| ============================================== THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING ULTIMATE LOCATOR v2.3 ============================================== -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you are upgrading from a previous version, you should only upload files to server and do not run the install script. *** NEVER upload the /admin/config.php file for upgrades or you will overwrite your existing configuration settings. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you have a first time install, please see the README.txt file that came with your download and follow those instructions. The following instructions are meant for those who are upgrading from a previous version. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How To Upgrade: THE ONLY TIME YOU SHOULD RUN AN INSTALL.PHP OR UPGRADE.PHP SCRIPT IS WHEN THERE ARE MODIFICATIONS TO THE DATABASE TO BE MADE. ALL OTHER UPGRADES SIMPLY NEED TO HAVE THE FILES UPLOADED TO YOUR SERVER AND OVERWRITE YOUR EXISTING ONES. THAT WILL UPGRADE YOUR SYSTEM TO THE NEWEST VERSION. ---------IMPORTANT -------------- NEVER UPLOAD THESE 2 FILES DURING AN UPGRADE: /locator/key/key.php /locator/admin/config.php THESE 2 FILES MUST ALWAYS REMAIN ON THE SERVER AND YOU SHOULD NEVER OVERWRITE THEM WITH NEW ONES. THESE FILES ARE CREATED DURING YOUR FIRST INSTALL AND CONTAIN YOUR INSTALLATION CONFIGURATIONS. IF YOU UPLOAD NEW 'BLANK' FILES, YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR CONFIGURATION VALUES AND YOUR SYSTEM WILL STOP WORKING AND YOU WILL HAVE TO RUN THE INSTALL SCRIPT AGAIN TO FIX IT. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Upgrade Instructions: If you have a previous version of: - version 1.x then you need to upload all files to your server, (except the /admin/config.php) then you need to run the /locator/admin/upgrade.php script. This will update your database to the v2.0+ version. - version 2.x then you need to upload all files to your server, (except the /admin/config.php) and you are done. There is no database update needed. Do not run the install.php or upgrade.php scripts. **** It is always a good idea to login to your Admin Control Panel and run your Program Settings tool after an upgrade. After you have placed all the new files on the server you are done. However, the first time you attempt to login to your Admin Control Panel, it will ask you for a new Unlock Key. The first time you run the /admin/index.php control panel
script and try to login to the Admin Control Panel, |
